You must be at least 19+ to purchase and consume cannabis.
You are allowed to carry up to 30 grams of cannabis at a time.
Personal cultivation is prohibited in Nunavut.
Cannabis will be available both online and through a mix of public and private retail stores.
There are specific public consumption areas. Cannabis consumption is not permitted in workplace or public place where tobacco is prohibited or in areas including sports fields, community recreation centres, or places in which goods and services are sold.
Cannabis use is strictly prohibited from the following areas: on or within prescribed distances from hospitals or healthcare facilities, schools or day care facilities.
Minors are not permitted in cannabis retail stores.
No use of cannabis in vehicles is permitted by a driver or any occupants.
Your cannabis must be contained in closed package out of reach of driver and occupants.
Driving under the influence of cannabis can lead to 24-hour suspension or 30-day suspension for minors, novice drivers, commercial vehicles and those with previous suspensions or prohibitions, or 90-day suspension with previous suspensions and “higher prescribed amount” in system.
