You must be 19+ to purchase and consume cannabis in Saskatchewan.
You can carry up to 30 grams on your person or in a vehicle.
You will be able to purchase online and in stores in Saskatchewan. There will be a number of retail websites and stores to choose from in the coming months.
Think of cannabis like a bottle of open alcohol; cannabis cannot be used in public places.
Deliveries are allowed, but you will need to provide proof of age with government-issued photo ID.
The number of stores is restricted for the first 3 years and will then be reevaluated. There has been 51 retail permits selected in 32 communities.
Cannabis is not permitted to be used on premise of a retail store.
Landlords can prohibit possession, growth and sale in rented units.
Minors are not permitted on cannabis retail store premises.
Cannabis is not permitted to be used in a vehicle by a driver or any occupants.
If caught driving under the influence of cannabis you will be subject to a zero tolerance approach with administrative suspensions including licence suspension, mandatory education programming and impoundment for 3-60 days.
